The NIH first developed treatment guidelines (NCEP ATP Guidelines) for the treatment of cholesterol in 1988 and these guidelines have been regularly updated to keep up with the advances in medical science. Physician compliance with these guidelines has not been good.

ACCEPT clinical management system evolved over a period of several years in the setting of a busy clinical practice. One of the reasons for the poor physician compliance with the national treatment guidelines is the lack of a practical system that easily adopts to the way a cardiologist works in a busy practice. ACCEPT system enables a busy physician to manage all risk factors, not just LDL cholesterol.

Our published data showed that 78% of high risk women were successfully treated to an LDL target goal of less than 100, compared to 10% in HERS trial.

Consequently, we  have very good clinical outcomes with low event rate.
